50 Years of Border Builders History:
Bede Byrne a local Plumber and Ross Noud a local builder together with their wives formed a partnership to establish an independent Retail Hardware Store.
May 12 1953: Border Builders & Plumbers Suppliers commenced trading from 107 Marshall Street Goondiwindi
1960: The Business moved to its present address 119 Marshall Street.
1971: Border Builders & Plumbers Supplies joined the Mitre 10 Buying Group.
1992: The Business was sold to Alwyn & Patrea Bauman, Patrea being Bede's Daughter.
1997: The Bauman Family (Alwyn, Patrea, Matthew & Jeffrey) assumed total ownership.
January 5 2002: Work began to rebuild 119 Marshall St premises and to relay to store as a Mitre 10 Home & Trade
June 20 2002: Mrs Enid Byrne the last living member of the original partnership opens the new store.
June 2002: Border Builders Mitre 10 becomes the first Mitre 10 Home & Trade in QLD
